Maggie Britton heads to yet another chart success… this time with jazz standards:
While on the subject of legends, I’m happy to report that Maggie Britton’s new release ‘Ditto’ is steadily gathering steam with more and more radio plays. So, it’s sensational to hear that tracks from this album are not only being played but are on rotation at a number of stations here and overseas. Maggie has had a lot of success over the years, initially as a #1 recording artist in the UK and Australia, then as a television presenter and personality in Europe and Australia, and a subsequent career A&R for labels and publishing. Maggie sounds simply sensational on this release.
Review: One of those legendary names in Australian entertainment, Maggie Britton, continues her long career from her base on the Gold Coast. In company with Will Sargisson on piano, Col Atkinson on bass guitar and Willy Qua on drums – three headline acts in their own right – Maggie made one of her occasional appearances at the BJC to a very appreciative audience. Her repertoire of time-honored songs such as Almost Like Being in Love, Fly me To the Moon, Shadow of Your Smile and The Way You Look Tonight showcased her voice to perfection and demonstrated her experience as a vocalist. Special mention must be made of Maggie’s own compositions – Boys From Brazil, Lazy Latin Life and Friends.
Maggie’s performance included slick versions of Fascinating Rhythm, Pennies From Heaven and Hit That Jive Jack. You can often judge the success of a show by the number of people who stick around afterwards to have a chat with the performers. There were plenty of after-show conversations going on so congratulations to Maggie and her band for a very relaxed and comfortable night of swinging vocal jazz.

Review by John McBeath – The Australian
Maggie Britton is one of those artists today, able to envelop the listener into her music and this is a quality that few artists can boast of having. Listening to the songs, we realize that this artist has a voice comes from far away, warm and enveloping, and from which we can understand the class and artistic talent, the musical genius of this artist has the highest in the song “This Masquerade”, which focuses all of her experience creating an incredible mix of feelings and emotions that only an artist can do like Maggie Britton. Maggie is currently in rotation on Smooth Jazz Radio Channel with the track This Masquerade and our audience appreciate her music shows through the thousands of contacts and emails every day we receive.
